On August 25, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov. This contact was another step in the framework of an active political dialogue that is consistently developing between Ashgabat and Moscow.
The diplomats discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to cooperation in the international arena, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan said.
The telephone conversation became a practical implementation of the agreements reached in June this year. At that time, a program of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries for 2025-2026 was signed in Ashgabat. The document provides for regular high-level contacts and consultations.
