Kabul says it is ready to pay for the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline construction

A spokesman for the Ministry of Mining and Oil, Homayun Afgan, said that "security has now been ensured in the country, and that the Islamic Emirate has also decided to acquire land for the TAPI project."

He noted Turkmenistan's contribution to the promotion of this project in Afghanistan and confirmed his readiness to begin work on its practical implementation. "And if no alternative is found, we are ready to support ourselves," TOLOnews quotes the representative of the department.

In Afghanistan, the TAPI gas pipeline construction project (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) is considered one of the vital projects for the economic development of the country and the creation of jobs for its population.

The route of the gas pipeline in Afghanistan passes through Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar. The length of the pipeline will be 1,814 km, of which 735 km will pass through Afghanistan.

In addition to creating jobs for thousands of people, Afghanistan will earn more than $400 million a year from the implementation of this project.
