Oriented on making people closer

On March 4, Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, received credentials from the new Spanish Ambassador, Ricardo Martinez Vazquez. She congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and spoke about the main principles of Turkmenistan's foreign policy: positive neutrality, peacefulness and mutually beneficial cooperation. The country's national development programs were also mentioned.

Both sides emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary ties for strengthening cooperation. Vazquez and Gulmanova expressed hope for the further development of relations between Turkmenistan and Spain.

On the same day, Ambassador Vazquez (with residence in Moscow), who arrived in Ashgabat with a business delegation, met with Deputy Minister Akhmet Gurbanov at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of expanding partnership in agriculture and water management, transport, educational projects, including the study of the Spanish language.

The program of the visit of the Spanish delegation includes meetings with the heads of about ten ministries and departments of Turkmenistan. The delegation includes representatives of 18 large Spanish companies, including Talgo, INDRA and AGRAGEX. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Embassy of Spain in the Russian Federation represents the interests of the kingdom in Turkmenistan, Armenia, Belarus and Uzbekistan.
