"Taze Saba" - the first manufacturer of toothbrushes in Central Asia

Within the framework of the USAID’s Trade Central Asia activity, as a part of the Export Ecosystem Development Initiative, we met with the founder and General Director of the "Taze Saba" economic society, Nazar Ashirgylyjovich Yazglyjov.

During the interview, he introduced us to the work of the Taze Saba enterprise and the company’s products, and also toldus what the brand name “CV Dent Pharmaceutical” stands for.

The economic society "Taze Saba" was established in 2018. In May 2022, a toothbrush manufacturing factoory began to operate. Since then, it has been operating according to the annual plan developed by the export department, which is responsible for trade in foreign markets and for advertising products on neighboring countries' online trading platforms and social networks.

ES "Taze Saba" is the first enterprise engaged in the production of toothbrushes, not only in Turkmenistan, but also in Central Asia. According to Nazar Ashirgylydzhovich, the company’s main competitors in Asia are toothbrush manufacturers from China and Vietnam. The entire production process of the business company meets international standards. Due to the fact that 90% of the raw materials are of domestic origin, and the company uses modern nanotechnologies, that made it possible to produce high-quality products at affordable prices, which are in great demand in the domestic and foreign markets.

“The export activity of the enterprise opens up new opportunities for the purchase of raw materials and equipment, for expanding the range and increasing production capacity, for creating new jobs and increasing profits, which can be used in the future to expand production volumes,” noted Nazar Yazglyjov.

Speaking about export, the founder noted that the presence of quality certificates and certificates of origin of products is the main condition for exporting the goods. The company has ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certificates. The ISO 9001 certificate is a document confirming compliance of the quality management system with the provisions of the international standard. The ISO 14001 certificate confirms that the company has implemented an environmental management system. The ISO 45001 certificate (formerly ohsas 18001) is obtained to confirm the implementation of the OHSAS work safety and health system. All these certificates are required guarantees of the quality of the manufactured product and are mandatory for export activities in foreign markets.

Bilateral and multilateral international trade agreements that reduce or eliminate tariffs and help attract investment, economic growth, and create favorable conditions for exporters as well as help promote trade turnover and eliminate trade barriers.

In its work, the Turkmen ES "Taze Saba" uses INCOTERMS 2010 - the system of international agreement conditions, in particular it uses FCA (free carrier) rule. It denotes that the goods are delivered to the customer's main carrier at the departure terminal specified in the contract (sometimes including the seller's own warehouses ), and the seller pays export duties. Today, Taze Saba exports products to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries.

Nazar Yazglyjov noted that the enterprise can produce twenty-five thousand per day, and one hundred and fifty thousand CV Dent toothbrushes per week, and that one hundred and thirty thousand of them are exported. Orders for production of products are received via online platforms on the Internet or through an application on the official website of the company. When placing orders, all customer wishes are taken into consideration, such as the color of the toothbrush.

Among the plans of the Taze Saba company is the release of its own toothpaste next year. Expansion of products will help, apart from other things, create new jobs, increase trade turnover and implement the import substitution policy in Turkmenistan.
