The first theater festival of the CIS countries will host Samarkand as the cultural capital of the Commonwealth - 2024
21.09.2023 | 00:36 |The Uzbek city of Samarkand will host the First Theater Festival of the Commonwealth of Independent States in March 2024. Nine theaters from the CIS member states will take part in the creative review, Deputy Governor of the region for Tourism, Cultural Heritage and Sports Rustam Kobilov told media representatives.
It is already known that the festival will open the play "Bygone Days" by the Samarkand Russian Drama Theater named after A.P. Chekhov. Also, within the framework of the forum, more than 20 cultural and creative events are planned to be held in the city. One of them will be the Festival of Libraries of the CIS countries.
Recall that in 2024 Samarkand was declared the cultural capital of the Commonwealth, and Tashkent will receive the status of the youth capital of the CIS.
