Turkmenistan's national football team plans to hold friendly matches with the teams of Indonesia and Bahrain. This was reported to the ORIENT correspondent by representatives of this sport of the country.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in September FIFA days.

The match between the teams of Turkmenistan and Indonesia will take place on September 8. The meeting will be held at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya.

Then the Turkmen national team will travel to Dubai (UAE), where it will hold a friendly match against Bahrain on September 12.

Earlier, ORIENT reported that Turkmenistan intends to hold a friendly match with Hong Kong in September days of FIFA. However, the match was canceled, as the Turkmen national team will become a possible opponent of the Hong Kong team in the group in the qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup.

Simultaneously with the September days of FIFA, the qualifying tournament of the Asian Cup-2024 among the Olympic teams under 23 will be held. Turkmenistan, together with Indonesia and Taiwan, formed the "K" group.

As the head coach of the Turkmenistan national football team Mergen Orazov told the ORIENT correspondent, many players of the national team will go along with the Olympic team, and the coaching staff will have the opportunity to check the abilities of other candidates.

Recall that according to the results of the draw for the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, which took place in July, the Turkmenistan national team was in group "E", where it will play with the teams of Iran, Uzbekistan, as well as with the winner of the pair of the first qualifying round Hong Kong - Bhutan.

Already on November 16, the national team of Turkmenistan will begin its journey in the second round of the qualifying tournament of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a home match against the team of Uzbekistan.
