 ORIENT author from Ivanovo is awarded for special contribution to strengthening interethnic relations

The Ivanovo Region Governor's Prize "For special contribution to the development and strengthening of interethnic relations" was presented at the House of Nationalities in Ivanovo. Among the laureates was Lyubov Kiyashko, familiar to readers of our website from exclusive publications on the topic of intercultural cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan.

She was awarded in the nomination "For the best information coverage of the activities of national and cultural associations in the Ivanovo Region". The high award was given, in particular, for Lyubov Kiyashko's active participation in the large-scale international project "Crossroads of Arts", which ORIENT covered.

The award winner also successfully launched her own media project, “Family of Nations” (with an emphasis on studying the Russian language through journalism), thanks to which she was able to publish six issues of the magazine “Together Friendly Family” with very touching and sometimes poignant articles-reflections, articles-impressions and reports of schoolchildren who came to the legendary international school “Interdom” from Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Armenia.

For the latter, by the way, it was possible to conduct a unique lesson introducing the Parthian period of the history of Turkmenistan. This work (as part of the work of the Inter media center, which Lyubov created in Interdom) was also noted by awarding the Governor's Prize.

In addition, working for the Ivteleradio TV channel, which is a branch of the All-Russian state television and radio broadcasting company Rossiya, Lyubov Kiyashko released many reports on the life of diasporas, as well as the preservation of traditional Russian crafts and arts. She is an active participant in the projects of the Union of Journalists of Russia and the Guild of Interethnic Journalism.

The awards were presented at a meeting of the council under the Governor of the Ivanovo region for the harmonization of interethnic relations by Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government Evgeny Nesterov. During the meeting, issues of the adaptation course of the Federal Agency for Nationalities of Russia, which will be provided to foreign citizens and migrants arriving in the Ivanovo region, were discussed.

The course consists of four blocks and is dedicated to the Russian language, communication etiquette, the culture of behavior in public places and the legislation of the Russian Federation. Representatives of different nationalities were also offered to take a lecture course of the "Knowledge" society. And representatives of the regional branch of the "Assembly of the Peoples of Russia" called on representatives of diasporas to propose their projects aimed at strengthening interethnic relations.

In addition, at the meeting, the new head of the Ivanovo House of Nationalities, Boris Murvanidze, was introduced to those gathered. The council meeting is timed to coincide with September 3 - the International Day of the Fight against Terrorism.
