Oriented on making people closer

The preparation of a National Plan for the Development of Social Services in Turkmenistan was discussed during a meeting of an expert group organized by the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator in Turkmenistan jointly with UNDP and UNICEF.

The participants were presented with an analysis of fiscal flows aimed at social services and strengthening the social protection system in Turkmenistan. The analysis was prepared by UNDP for further development of the social services sector in Turkmenistan.

Earlier in December 2021, Turkmenistan adopted the law "On Social Services", designed to support citizens of the country who are in a difficult life situation. The law provides for the financing of social services from the State Budget, as well as funds allocated in the form of charitable and humanitarian assistance.
