Oriented on making people closer

Chinese President Xi Jinping called on young people from Central Asia who are studying in China to devote themselves to promoting friendship and strengthening relations between China and the countries of the region, China Daily reports.

In a letter to students from Central Asian countries who study at the Chinese Petroleum University in Beijing, Xi stressed that China and the Central Asian states have a common future. This partnership received a special impetus with the initiation in 2013 of the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt — a project to form a single Eurasian trade and economic space and a transcontinental transport corridor.

The Chinese President stressed that friendly relations between the parties should also be supported by the efforts of ambitious young people. He urged students to promote the "spirit of the Silk Road", act as "messengers of friendship" and "bridge of cooperation".

Earlier, students from Central Asia wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping, in which they expressed their determination to contribute to the creation of a community of China and Central Asia with a common vision for the future.
