Vacuum cleaning

The vacuum cleaner is your main assistant. It is not necessary to vacuum the carpet too often — a couple of times a week is quite enough. This way you will keep the pile neat, the carpet clean, and the color will remain bright.

Take your time, especially when vacuuming a carpet with a long pile. One pass over the surface is not enough. It is necessary to slowly walk the vacuum cleaner nozzle several times to remove all accumulated dirt and dust. Pay special attention to places where people walk or sit.

After cleaning with a vacuum cleaner, you can use special protective equipment to prevent carpet contamination, and fresheners. At the same time, be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Wet carpet cleaning

Before using a cleaning agent on a wool carpet, it is recommended to first test it on an inconspicuous area. Apply a small amount of cleaning agent and leave for a few minutes. Then blot it with a clean cloth and check for discoloration or damage to the carpet. If the color does not spread and does not fade, you can start cleaning.

Mix a solution of warm water and a mild detergent or wool carpet cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach, as they can damage the fibers. Apply the solution to the carpet surface by wetting a brush or sponge with soft bristles in the cleaning solution. Gently rub the carpet in a circular motion, paying special attention to the soiled areas.

After you have cleaned the entire carpet, carefully remove any remaining cleaning agent. Be sure to wash off all the foam and soap, while it is important to avoid using too much water. Then dry the product. Use a clean towel or mop to remove excess water from the carpet. After that, let the carpet dry completely in the air or in a well-ventilated room. Do not expose it to direct sunlight, as this can lead to fading.

Here are some more recommendations that will help extend the service life of your product:

— Do not use the carpet in conditions of high humidity.
— Do not use in the kitchen or in rooms with chemicals.
— Do not put heavy furniture with sharp legs on it.
— Rotate around its axis to avoid uneven wear.

To clean from various contaminants, experts recommend using neutral shampoo for carpets, stain removers for dry cleaning or special soft wipes. But remember that you can not wash a wool carpet.

What improvised means can be used to clean the carpet:

Ammonia. Very effective stain remover. For 0.5 liters of water, mix 10 ml of ammonia and a teaspoon of washing powder. Apply the liquid to the stain and gently rub it with a brush. Then wipe with a dry cloth and leave to dry.

Baking soda. It also removes stains perfectly. Sprinkle the stain liberally with soda and vacuum after half an hour or an hour. Soda will absorb not only dust and dirt, but also an unpleasant smell.

Lemon juice. It eats away well even the most difficult-to-remove stains. Apply squeezed lemon juice to the stain and after a few hours wash it well with a wet sponge or rag so that the carpet surface does not become sticky. Next, just let the carpet dry.

You can also create a carpet freshener yourself: add a few drops of aromatic oil to a handful of soda, sprinkle on the carpet. After 10-20 minutes, vacuum well.

If you have spilled something on the wool carpet, it is important to get the stain wet immediately. Use a clean cloth or paper towel to soak up as much liquid as possible, being careful not to rub it into the carpet. Due to friction, the stain will be harder to remove. Then apply carpet cleaning solution and gently rub the stain with a soft brush.
