The Forum will be hosted by President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. It is expected that the summit will be attended by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Head of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, leader of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Head of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
On the eve of the summit, the first details about the construction of a new branch of the Turkmenistan—China gas pipeline, which also passes through the territory of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, became known. The project is important for the further development of cooperation between China and the Central Asian countries.
The upcoming summit is designed to strengthen political mutual trust and strategic partnership between China and the Central Asian countries, which this year celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
