BelTA: Belarus uses AI for security in the gas sector
29.04.2023 | 10:48 |Artificial intelligence has started to be used in Belarus to improve labor safety in the gas industry, BelTA reports with reference to the country's Ministry of Energy.
The neural network analyzes the image of personnel using a stationary camera (mobile application), determines the presence and correctness of wearing overalls and shoes, helmets. In case of absence or improper wearing of one of the equipment elements, the system gives a signal.
The project on the introduction of an artificial intelligence control system for personal protective equipment was implemented by the UE "Vitebskoblgaz" within the framework of the Vision Zero no-injury concept.
The system will ensure effective control over compliance with occupational health and safety regulations at work, will reduce the level of occupational injuries, as well as optimize the costs of its prevention.
"Safe working conditions are the most important priority for every organization in the industry. Approaches to their provision are constantly being improved, including with the use of the latest technologies. The system of intelligent video analytics is one of the promising areas of digitalization of business processes," the department noted.
