CCTV+: China's logistics sector demonstrated recovery in early 2023
31.03.2023 | 22:26 |China's logistics industry continued to pick up the pace of recovery in the period from January to February this year due to increased demand in many sectors of the country. This is evidenced by data published by the Chinese Federation of Logistics and Procurement (CFLP).
"In January-February, the trend of recovery of the logistics sector was particularly striking. The main reason for this was that the demand for logistics is recovering due to a significant increase in overall demand in the country after the pandemic," Shi Xianliang, director of the Institute of Economics and Management at Beijing University of Transport, told CCTV+.
The total volume of logistics of industrial goods in the first two months of the year increased in China by 2.4% year-on-year. In particular, the logistics demand for goods of basic industries, including ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy products, building materials and others, is steadily recovering, becoming the cornerstone of the restoration of industrial logistics.
The logistics demand in the modernized industries was also very obvious. In particular, the accelerated growth rates were demonstrated by the total cost of logistics services in the production of equipment for railways, ships and electrical engineering.
