China daily: China is ready for the Boao Asian Forum

On March 28, the 22nd annual Boao Asian Forum will open in Hainan Province in southern China, China Daily reports.

This year the forum will be held entirely in full-time format. Representatives of about 40 countries and regions have already confirmed their participation in the event.

Within the framework of this forum, two large-scale sessions are planned - the Global Forum for the Development of Free Trade Ports and the Hainan Dialogue.

The Global Free Trade Ports Development Forum, which will be the third in a row, aims to unite Chinese and foreign free trade zones and ports in order to build a global partnership.

The Hainan Dialogue, which will be held on March 29, will be dedicated to China's cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in the field of agriculture and the development of international industrial cooperation in the Hainan Free Trade Port.

The organizers aimed at holding an environmentally friendly event. Thus, vehicles powered only by renewable energy sources will be used to transport participants. All buildings and facilities of the annual conference will also work on renewable energy.

Another innovation of the current forum will be the construction of the Boao demonstration zone with zero carbon emissions. The 16 projects presented in it make it possible to reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by more than 9 thousand tons per year.

The Boao Asian Forum will last until March 31.
