Oriented on making people closer

The next round of political consultations between Turkmenistan and Belarus was held in Ashgabat on Tuesday, in the Foreign Ministry building. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Berdiniyaz Matiyev, the Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Igor Nazaruk.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues related to political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the effectiveness of the partnership between the foreign ministries was emphasized. The successful experience of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, in particular, the UN, was also noted, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the intensification of direct contacts between the business circles of Turkmenistan and Belarus. In this context, the coordinating role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarusian Commission for Economic Cooperation was highlighted.

A separate topic was cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which has accumulated a wealth of experience in cooperation in education, science, sports and healthcare
