Oriented on making people closer

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Wednesday inspected the cultural and park complex in the south of Ashgabat with the Makhtumkuli Fragi monument, the opening of which is scheduled for June this year.

The head of state got acquainted with the layout of the territory, which covers more than 41 hectares, sketches of landscape design of the park area, lighting design of the monument itself and a huge staircase leading to its 25-meter pedestal, on which a 60-meter-high tower was erected. Deputy Prime Minister Charymyrat Purchekov reported to the President on the progress of work on this iconic facility.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized on the technological and environmental component of the project, which includes the creation of a large forest park, which should fit into the green oasis in the foothills of the area.

In this context, the President discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev the choice of wood species suitable for the climate and soil in the area and ordered the control of the care of the green plantations.

During the inspection, the head of state also instructed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov on the preparation of cultural, scientific, and popular actions both in Turkmenistan and in other countries to draw attention to the heritage of the brightest and most influential Turkmen classical heritage - Makhtumkuli.

The government's Culture and Media Affairs Minister, Mahrijjamal Mammadov, briefed the President on how the planned opening ceremony of the monument, which is scheduled to be organized during the Culture Week, is traditionally held in honor of the Culture Workers 'Day and Culture Workers' Day.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov reminded that the opening ceremony of the complex will start the relay of major events dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli in 2024, and in this regard gave instructions to prepare and organize the upcoming celebrations at the appropriate level.
