Oriented on making people closer

The 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the United Nations was marked by a series of events, among which stood a solemn meeting at the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting, held in digital format, was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in the country, and journalists.

It was noted that cooperation with the UN has always been a priority for Turkmenistan, since a peaceful foreign policy, mutual respect and equality between countries are not only the ideals of the United Nations, but also the main guidelines by which Turkmenistan builds relations with other states of the world.

The international initiatives of President Berdimuhamedov are invariably met with the support of the UN member states. It is not surprising that at the solemn meeting at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, its participants noted the complete coincidence of the tasks of the UN with the "National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022-2052".

The continuation of the events in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the United Nations was the signing ceremony of bilateral documents, which took place in the capital's Congress Center.

Among the signed documents are the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN on cooperation in the implementation of the National Program for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan in 2022-2052; Project “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and Ecosystems of High Natural Value in the Aral Sea Basin for Multiple Benefits”; Project “HCFC Phase-out Management Plan (HPMP) – Stage II” and Project “Institutional Strengthening for Implementation of the Montreal Protocol (Phase V) in Turkmenistan”.
