China showcases new Internet of Things technologies at WIoT Expo 2026

The 2026 World Internet of Things (WIoT) Expo has opened in Wuxi, east China's Jiangsu Province, showcasing new technologies and solutions reflecting trends in industrial development and emerging opportunities in the IoT sector.
The expo runs through November 2. More than 100 specialized activities are scheduled, including technology presentations, contract signings, business matchmaking and resource coordination. More than 1,000 companies from across the industrial chain are expected to take part.
One exhibit attracting visitors is a satellite IoT messenger no larger than a power bank. It allows users to send SOS distress signals via satellite even in areas without terrestrial network coverage. Qin Wensheng, a solutions director at SpaceIoT, said the device could be used during overseas fieldwork, business trips and emergencies involving workers in remote areas.
Another exhibit drawing attention is a headband that allows users to control a robotic arm through concentration. The device collects signals from the brain's prefrontal lobe and establishes a connection with external equipment, enabling users to operate the robotic arm without physically touching its controls.
According to CCTV+, WIoT Expo 2026 demonstrates practical applications of Internet of Things technologies, ranging from satellite communication for remote areas to systems that enable interaction between people and robotic equipment.
