President Serdar Berdimuhamedov abolished the post of Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Military and Legal Affairs. He announced this decision at a meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan on Wednesday, where the heads of law enforcement agencies were approved.
In connection with the exclusion from the government of the post of vice-premier for power structures, Charymyrat Amanov, who held it, was relieved of the post of secretary of the State Security Council with a transfer to another job.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked Amanov for his efforts to strengthen the security and defense of the state, ensure law and order, praising his services to the country and people.
By the decision of the President, the State Security Council of Turkmenistan is now headed by Defense Minister Begench Gundogdyev.
