Microsoft has unveiled a new character called “Mico”, which will serve as the visual identity of the company’s AI assistant, Copilot. The character is inspired by the legendary office assistant Clippy and will appear when users activate Copilot’s voice mode.
The name Mico is derived from the abbreviation of Microsoft Copilot. According to the company, the character was created to make interactions with artificial intelligence more personalized and recognizable.
Mico will appear on the screen when the user activates Copilot’s voice mode. Microsoft noted that Clippy’s design elements were incorporated into Mico’s creation. With a few clicks, Mico can briefly transform into Clippy.
The new feature is already available to users in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Microsoft stated that Mico will be able to remember previous interactions and learn from user feedback.
