The International Forum to Attract Foreign Investment in Turkmenistan’s Energy Sector (TEIF 2024) kicked off in Paris on the 24th. The Forum is a key platform for discussing strategic directions of energy development in Turkmenistan and attracting new investments in this sector.
TEIF 2024 brought together more than 300 delegates, leading experts, government and business representatives from 31 countries, creating a unique opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas, as well as to establish partnerships in the energy sector.
The first day of the forum was marked by four key sessions addressing the most important aspects of the energy sector:
• Plenary Session: The Role of Turkmenistan in the Future of Global Energy
• Session 1: The Prospects for Natural Gas Production in the Energy Transition
• Session 2: Reduction of methane and CO2 emissions from hydrocarbon production and alternative energy sources
• Session 3: Commodities for energy transition: new trends and investment opportunities
In addition to the business program, the Turkmen delegation headed by Mr. Batyr Amanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, took part in the cultural program. They visited the exhibition "Magtymguly Pyragy and Cultural Heritage of Turkmenistan" dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet.
The first day of the Forum also included meetings with the senior management of the oil and gas, construction, transport and communication sectors of Turkmenistan, which allowed the participants to discuss key aspects of cooperation and prospects for the development of the sectors. These meetings represented an important platform for the exchange of views, experiences and solutions to deepen mutual understanding and create a favorable climate for further cooperation and investment.
