An international media forum on the theme "Turkmen land – the center of ancient civilizations" was held in Ashgabat on Thursday, March 28. The purpose of the event, organized within the framework of the program "Anew - the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024" and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, was to attract the attention of regional and world media to the material and spiritual heritage of Turkmenistan and stimulate cultural dialogue through information channels.

Among the participants are representatives of news agencies, TV and radio companies, online publications, newspapers and magazines from Great Britain, Hungary, Gagauzia, Moldova, Georgia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Russia, Turkey, Uzbekistan. The forum was also attended by delegates from the International Organization of Turkic Culture, the European Broadcasting Union, the Union of Radio and Television and the Union of Information Agencies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, etc.

Among the guests of honor are Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, First Deputy Director General of the TASS news agency Mikhail Gusman, former head of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), and today Professor of the Graduate Business School of Montreal Javad Mottagi and other famous figures.

After the plenary session, the forum continued its work in the sections: "The unity of Turkic culture and its role in the media", "The Storehouse of the mind of Magtymguly Pyragy", "Digital Media and News" and "Films, animations and film festivals".

The discussions focused on trends in the global information field, new ways and methods of interaction between journalism and the audience. Media professionals shared their vision of the tasks and transformation of the media in the digital age, expressed opinions on the importance of cultural heritage in enriching and humanizing information flows, and analyzed the best practices in this area.

It is expected that this forum will contribute to strengthening the role of the media in shaping concepts that ensure the relevance of cultural heritage in the public environment and influence the culture of preservation and continuity.
