
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received on Wednesday Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan.
The diplomat conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the head of Turkmenistan, as well as the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting that Turkey attaches great importance to the traditionally friendly dialogue with fraternal Turkmenistan.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov reciprocated his best wishes to the President of Turkey and congratulated the minister and the Turkish people on the upcoming anniversary - the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, as reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.
The head of state expressed confidence that the upcoming official visit to Turkey will open new pages of fraternal relations.

The Republic of Turkey is a friendly and fraternal state for our country and bilateral relations are of a strategic nature. Centuries-old Turkmen-Turkish fraternal ties have a wealth of experience, which is confirmed by the high level of interaction in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, the President said.
Our cooperation is successfully developing and strengthening on a mutually beneficial basis both in a bilateral format and within international organizations, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted and thanked the Turkish side for supporting international initiatives and proposals of Turkmenistan, in particular at the UN.
During the meeting, prospects for increasing cooperation were discussed, where mutual visits of government delegations, as well as regular consultations and meetings between the foreign ministries of the two countries, are a significant factor.
In the context of discussing trade and economic relations, it was noted that Turkey currently occupies one of the leading positions in the foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan. The countries actively cooperate in almost all sectors of the economy and there are great opportunities for developing fruitful relations in the fuel and energy sector, the transport and communications sector.
