The capabilities of the Turkmen shipyard "Balkan", which has started the construction of the first vessels, aroused particular interest among the participants of the VI International transport and logistics business Forum "New Silk Way", which is taking place on Wednesday, October 4, in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
In his speech, Deputy Director General of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of the country Batyr Annayev drew the attention of the delegates of the representative forum to the shipbuilding projects that have been launched in Turkmenistan.

He informed that the first domestic cargo ship is planned to be launched in a year and a half, and then the following vessels will leave every two months. The ships are designed taking into account the current water level of the Caspian Sea, with a low draft, but a large payload capacity of 6,100 tons.
The representative of the Transport and Communication Agency of Turkmenistan announced the readiness of Turkmen shipbuilders to accept orders for the construction of new vessels. The proposal found a response and discussion.

Representatives of various business structures working in the field of maritime transportation became interested in the prospects of the Balkan shipbuilding and ship repair plant, and in general, the forum delegates highly appreciated Turkmenistan's active activities in the field of investments in transport infrastructure.
