Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev held a meeting with Nagata Kyosuke, President of the University of Tsukuba (Japan), on Tuesday. The guest arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to a press release of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
Cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere is one of the important areas of Turkmen-Japanese cooperation. Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of science, education and the study of the Japanese language can be called successful, the Turkmen diplomat noted.
The parties identified the cooperation of the Japanese University of Tsukuba with Turkmen universities - the D. Azadi National Institute of World Languages and the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology as very effective. The participants of the meeting noted the need for further expansion of exchange educational programs between higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and Japan.
