The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Russia (Astrakhan) organized a festive event dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher Magtymguly Pyragy. This is reported on the website of the Consulate General.
The event at Astrakhan State University was attended by representatives of the Ministry of External Relations of the Astrakhan region, the leadership of the above-mentioned university, the director of the Magtymguly Pyragy School, as well as the Turkmen diaspora living in the Astrakhan region.
In their speeches, Turkmen students studying at Astrakhan higher educational institutions noted the significant contribution of the great thinker to world literature, stressed the importance of his works for the younger generation.
Before the start of the solemn concert, an exhibition of works of Turkmen fine art, national clothes and Turkmen carpets was organized for the guests.
