The USAID Trade Program in Central Asia invites agricultural producers in Turkmenistan to receive consultations on the implementation of the Global G.A.P. international standard.
Global G.A.P. consultations will cover the issues of the peculiarities of the production of fruits, vegetables, melons both in open and protected ground (in a greenhouse). In particular, Turkmen producers will receive professional recommendations on choosing a site for growing crops and assessing soil characteristics, conducting agrotechnical measures for cultivating crops, increasing the productivity of traditional gardens.
Entrepreneurs will also learn about the peculiarities of creating modern intensive apple orchards, the technology of growing grapes in Turkmenistan, measures to combat pests and diseases of fruit and vegetable crops.
The USAID Trade program in Central Asia will raise awareness of Turkmen agronomists in the field of drip irrigation of fruit and vegetable crops in the open ground, cultivation of agricultural products on saline soils, organic farming, that is, cultivation of fruit and vegetable products without the use of pesticides and other pesticides.
Consultations will be held either remotely (by phone and email), or with departure directly to the site.

Consulting services will be provided from Monday to Friday from 09:00-18:00.
After receiving consultations, farms wishing to subsequently fully implement the requirements of the Global G.A.P. standard on their farm will be able to apply for assistance from the Trade Program in Central Asia for partial payment of up to 80% of the cost (in currency) of certification of the standard.
The Global G.A.P. standard is one of the most widespread certification systems for agricultural products in the world. Producers who have received the Global G.A.P. international certificate gain competitive advantages in the international market, and their agricultural products are in high demand.
Moreover, obtaining a Global G.A.P. certificate will allow direct deliveries to international food retail chains that place the highest demands on the products of their suppliers.
In March of this year, ES Ýigit was the first in Turkmenistan received a Global G.A.P. certificate.
