Turkmen diplomats discussed with the UN country team in Turkmenistan strategic cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Agenda for the period up to 2030, the local representative office of the organization told ORIENT.
The meeting was attended by Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Aksoltan Atayeva, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva Atageldy Haljanov, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Headquarters in Vienna Hemra Amannazarov.
The UN Permanent Coordinator in Turkmenistan Dmitry Shlapachenko informed the participants of the meeting about the priorities of the organization set out in the UN Framework Program for Cooperation in the Field of Sustainable Development between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025.
Shlapachenko highlighted the areas of strategic cooperation in which the permanent Missions of Turkmenistan to the UN in New York, the UN Offices in Geneva and Vienna could play a decisive role. In particular, the Voluntary National Review of Turkmenistan, which will be presented next year, further integration of the SDGs into national programs, as well as their monitoring and reporting.
