To finance the projects of all UN agencies in Turkmenistan, it is planned to create a single-country fund, which will ensure an increase in the effectiveness of interaction between the parties.
The details of the issue were discussed by Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Muhammetgeldi Serdarov and Regional Director of the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) for Europe and Central Asia, Gwi-Yeop Son.
The interlocutors noted that the creation of a single-country fund would also contribute to the successful implementation of the goals outlined in the framework programs of cooperation between the government of Turkmenistan and the UN, the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and their financing.
At the meeting in the Ministry of Finance, they also discussed issues of interaction between Turkmenistan and the UN as a whole, paying special attention to cooperation in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and possible new projects.
