Turkmenistan fulfilled the plan for the export of natural gas in January-February 2022 by 114.7%, and for its production - 105.9%, LNG production - 108.8%. In general, the fuel and energy sector of the country demonstrates stable performance.

The foreign trade turnover of Turkmenistan increased by 30.7% in January-February 2022 as compared to the base value of the same period of the last year.

On Thursday, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Special Representative of the UN Secretary General Natalya Gherman, head of the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).

Within the framework of the joint project of UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Green Urban Development in Ashgabat and Avaza”, UNDP with the support of UNEP organized a webinar on the intermediate results of the preparation of the Fourth National Communication on Climate Change (NC4) and First Biennial Update Report of Turkmenistan under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the United Nations was marked by a series of events, among which stood a solemn meeting at the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

When forming its approaches to the problem of ensuring universal security, Turkmenistan is based on the fundamental concept of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about the integrity and indivisibility of this concept, both in the geopolitical sense and in terms of the interconnectedness of its specific aspects.

The CEC of Turkmenistan has registered 2,726 national observers for the presidential elections to be held on March 12.

“It was not by chance that Central Asia became the first region of the world in which a comprehensive and integrated implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy began on a systematic basis,” said the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan, Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiev, speaking at the High-Level International Conference dedicated to the 10th anniversary of implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia.

Today, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s accession to the United Nations, the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a new project “Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and High Nature Value Ecosystems in the Aral Sea Basin for Multiple Benefits”, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), which will be implemented jointly by UNDP and the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.

On Wednesday, March 2, early voting began in the presidential elections in Turkmenistan. According to the CEC, it is held daily from 8 am to 6 pm.
