The ninth Digital China Summit has opened in Fuzhou, in eastern China's Fujian Province. The event lasts two days. Organizers promise to present more than 120 key achievements in the country's digitalization. This year's highlight is the dominance of businesses — three-quarters of the 24,000 registered participants come from companies.

The opening ceremony and main forum took place on the first day. A new report on the development of Digital China was presented, along with a national development index and a data resources survey. The exhibition runs longer than the summit — from April 28 to May 4. It featureas five thematic zones, including a dedicated artificial intelligence innovation cluster. More than 100 interactive projects show how data elements are being used in industry and social welfare.

China is entering a new five-year plan period, from 2026 to 2030. Building Digital China has become a priority during this time. The key difference from the previous five-year plan is the emphasis on integrating digital technologies with artificial intelligence. Over the next five years, digital transformation is expected to reshape traditional industries and boost new, promising sectors.
