The President of Turkmenistan Congratulated His Compatriots on International Women's Day
Turkmenistan is celebrating International Women's Day with great fanfare. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent a congratulatory message to mothers, women, and girls across the country, emphasizing their invaluable role in the life of the state and the preservation of national values.
This year, March 8th marks the year "Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" and preparations for the 35th anniversary of the country's independence. The head of state noted that the modern era is a time when women in Turkmenistan not only preserve the warmth of the family hearth but also actively shape the country's future.
In his message, the President emphasized the multifaceted talents of Turkmen women, from public service to high art:
"Our women are actively involved in the successful implementation of tasks for the benefit of the people and the country. They do tremendous work to continue the unique traditions of carpet and fabric weaving, embroidery... arts that have roots stretching back thousands of years."
The Address places special emphasis on the professional achievements of our compatriots. Today, women in Turkmenistan are represented in all sectors: from the oil and gas sector and science to education and public administration.
The President emphasized that women are the foundation of the continuity of generations and the spiritual strength of the nation:
"Our mothers and women... preserving centuries-old family values, play a key role in raising the younger generation – the pillars of our Motherland – in the spirit of high patriotism and national pride."
A large-scale event recognizing women's achievements was held to coincide with the holiday: traditional cash gifts were given to all women employed at enterprises, as well as students, schoolgirls, and kindergarteners.
Mothers of many children were awarded the honorary title "Ene mähri" ("Mother's Tenderness") as a symbol of the highest state recognition of their noble work.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the women of Turkmenistan that their faces always "radiate light, like a beautiful spring," and that prosperity and happiness reign in their families.
