Darya Guseynova Invites You to the "Birthday Concert" – Moscow and Ashgabat in Harmony
On April 11, the A.N. Scriabin Museum in Moscow will host an evening where opera classics will meet Turkmen melisma, and premieres of works by Mamed Guseynov will complement the legacy of Nury Khalmamedov.
Darya Guseynova's voice is well known to opera connoisseurs from Canada to Estonia, but her work has special significance for Turkmen listeners. An artist at the Moscow Helikon Opera and a student of the renowned professor Ruben Lisitsian, Darya has become one of the leading promoters of Turkmen classical music on the international stage.
The festive evening on Bolshoy Nikolopeskovsky Lane promises to be an event unlike any other. This isn't just a performance for an audience, but a warm gathering of like-minded people. Joining the birthday girl on stage will be her colleagues, friends, and students, and the Hoffman Choir, the Women's Chamber Choir of the Russian Academy of Arts, will add a special dimension to the sound.
The concert program is structured as a vibrant dialogue between eras and styles. The program will feature profound, philosophical works by Nury Khalmamedov and exquisite compositions by Jeren Kurbanklycheva. Of particular interest are Khalmamedov's works, performed by Darya herself. As a reminder, in 2023, her work formed the basis for a collection of works commemorating the composer's 85th birthday.
