Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova, during a briefing on March 4, expressed deep gratitude to Turkmenistan for its assistance in organizing safe routes for Russians leaving Iran. The diplomat called Ashgabat's assistance "colossal," noting that such support perfectly reflects the strategic partnership between the two countries.

"I would like to once again thank all the countries that are assisting our citizens... This is what we call true friendship, something we not only highly appreciate, but never forget," Zakharova stated.

She extended special thanks to the Turkmen side, emphasizing its truly warm attitude toward Russian citizens. The evacuees themselves, according to the diplomat, ask to convey their deepest gratitude to Turkmenistan for the care and safety on their journey home.

Regional Solidarity in Action. Along with Turkmenistan, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed gratitude to Armenia and Azerbaijan, which also opened their borders and organized alternative routes for Russian citizens. This collective approach by neighboring countries made it possible to create an effective evacuation system amid regional instability.

Maria Zakharova also reiterated that the principles of mutual assistance underlie Russia's policy. She cited the example of 2020, when Russian evacuation flights accepted citizens of all CIS countries alongside Russians.

Today's events confirm that the region remains united in the face of humanitarian challenges, and the "humanitarian corridor," built with Ashgabat's key participation, has been instrumental in saving hundreds of lives.
