Ashgabat, March 4 | ORIENT. The first group of 25 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran departed Ashgabat for their homeland early in the morning of March 4. The Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan shared details with ORIENT of this large-scale humanitarian operation, which has become an example of the high level of trust between the two countries.

The journey to safety began on the afternoon of March 3 at the Serakhs border crossing. The group of Chinese citizens entered Turkmen territory, where buses provided by the Chinese diplomatic mission were already waiting for them. The Turkmen side ensured the prompt and organized operation of all border services.

That evening, the evacuees arrived at Ashgabat International Airport. There, they were met by a working group from the Chinese Embassy, which assisted with registration and paperwork. The entire process—from border crossing to boarding—was smooth and efficient.

Chinese diplomats emphasized:

"With the support of brotherly and friendly Turkmenistan, the evacuation was carried out in an organized and effective manner. These events became an example of humanitarian cooperation, implemented on the principles of openness, mutual support, and trust."

The Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Turkmenistan continues to work closely with Turkmen authorities at border crossings to ensure the safe return of other Chinese citizens transiting from the region's unstable zone.
