The Prospect of Launching the Alat-Farab Zone between Bukhara and Lebap Was Discussed in Turkmenabat
The development of border trade was the main topic of the meeting between Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshanbek Alimov and governor of the Lebap province, Durdy Gendzhiev, in Turkmenabat. The Ambassador also held discussions with local entrepreneurs, Dunyo News Agency reports.
What was discussed:
The future Alat-Farab trade zone: The project between the Bukhara region and Lebap will drive growth in the well-being of border residents and increase trade turnover.
Interregional forum: The parties began preparations for the third joint forum of regions, as well as business meetings in Bukhara and Turkmenabat.
Industrial cooperation: The Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions are strengthening cooperation with Lebap in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, cultural, and humanitarian spheres under agreements signed in November 2025.
