TAPI: Large investors show increased interest in the gas pipeline

Today at the meeting of the government, it was reported that the Saudi Development Fund allocated funds to the Turkmen side for the purchase of a large batch of pipe products and technical funds to accelerate the construction of the Turkmen section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline (TAPI), the information program "Vatan" of the Turkmen State Broadcaster broadcasts. The investments were provided in accordance with the agreements reached during President Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Saudi Arabia in May 2016. At the moment, dozens of companies show an increased interest in the TAPI gas pipeline, confirming that this project is one of the most significant in the region as an economically viable financial investment that will bring significant dividends to its participants. According to Orient information received from sources close to oil and gas agencies, large international corporations participate in a number of tenders initiated by TAPI Pipeline Company Limited to carry out such works as engineering, bathymetric and laser scanning of the Afghan TAPI section from the air, assessment of the impact of the gas pipeline construction on the environment, etc. Orient already reported that celebrations on the occasion of the groundbreaking for the Afghan section of the pipeline are planned for the third decade of February this year. With the receipt of investments, Turkmenistan starts laying the pipeline along the previously determined route to Afghanistan, and the IRA is intensifying its work on laying the future gas main on its territory.
