The parties discussed specific measures to increase the volume of freight traffic and improve the efficiency of transit routes. In particular, key transport corridors of great regional importance were touched upon: China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran; the international corridor of the "Ashgabat Agreement" (Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Oman); the transit and transport corridor Armenia-Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan.

The parties agreed to expand ties within the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and ensure the efficient use of transit routes.

During the visit, the delegation also got acquainted with the work of the wagon control center and the capabilities of the new dry port of Aprin, located near Tehran, at the junction of Iran's East-West and North-South railway corridors, and visited the Akyayla-Incheburun railway crossing on the Turkmen-Iranian border to assess the progress of work on site.

These talks demonstrate the mutual interest of Turkmenistan and Iran in developing the region's transport potential and strengthening trade and economic ties.
