Turkmenistan Strengthens Security Measures in Connection with Ashgabat 2017 Games
According to the information program "Watan" of the State TV and Radio of Turkmenistan, President Berdymukhamedov signed an order to provide security in the city of Ashgabat during the organization and holding of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (August 17th - September 27th, 2017). At this time, we expect to have numerous visits of high-ranking guests, heads of state, representatives of international organizations, Berdimuhamedov said at the extraordinary meeting of the Security Council held today, declaring the enhanced regime of the work of military and law enforcement agencies for the sake of universal security. In this regard, all law enforcement agencies move to a 24-hour work, customs control is strengthened, and other corresponding security measures will be adopted. All international events planned for organization in Ashgabat for this period will be postponed to a later date. Law enforcement and military bodies are ordered in an enhanced regime to work to ensure peace and public order, security and safety of the State Border, implementation of migration and border control. The power structures were instructed to ensure the unhindered exit and entry into Turkmenistan of citizens of the country for medical and other needs.
