The idea to establish a Central Asian Journalism Prize was proposed at the II Central Asian Media Forum, which opened in Astana. This is reported by “KAZINFORM”.

This initiative aims to encourage the best representatives of the journalistic profession in the region, which, according to the organizers, will help improve the quality of media and strengthen cooperation between the countries of Central Asia.

The Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva, emphasized the importance of creating such projects for the exchange of experience and professional development of media workers.

The prize will contribute to the recognition of the merits of journalists and content makers, and will also serve as an incentive for the development of the media sphere in Central Asia. Within the framework of the forum, other initiatives were also discussed, such as the creation of a Journalism Academy in Central Asia and the launch of the "Our People" television project, which will tell about worthy representatives of the Central Asian society, as well as the organization of a teleconference for "Nowruz", which will allow the countries of the region to unite during this common holiday for all.

The II Central Asian Media Forum will continue its work until April 17th.
