The President of Turkmenistan and the Emperor of Japan discuss future partnership

During his working visit to Japan, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a meeting with the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito.

During the conversation, the parties discussed the prospects of interstate relations, paying particular attention to the economy, technology, and humanitarian interaction. It was noted that Japan holds a leading position globally in technological development, while Turkmenistan possesses abundant natural resources and is interested in their rational utilization through the application of advanced Japanese solutions.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan is actively modernizing key sectors of its economy, including the energy sector, the oil and gas and chemical industries, transportation, construction, and agriculture. In this context, Japan is regarded as a significant partner capable of contributing to the sustainable development of the country through innovative approaches and modern technologies.

Particular attention was paid to joint projects in areas such as renewable energy sources, information technology, ecology, and sustainable development. The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that cooperation in these areas would be mutually beneficial.

The cultural and humanitarian sphere was also highlighted as a priority in the bilateral partnership. It was noted that Turkmenistan traditionally demonstrates interest and respect for Japanese culture and art. In turn, the Japanese side also expresses interest in the history and culture of Turkmenistan.

Emperor Naruhito emphasized the importance of educational exchange and noted that the teaching of the Japanese language in Turkmen schools and universities is a positive step towards bringing the peoples closer together.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude to the Emperor for his personal contribution to the development of relations between the two countries and reaffirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to deepen the partnership.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties exchanged warm wishes and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of strategic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan, as reported by TDH.
