Turkmen youth in Ukraine celebrated World Health Day
Representatives of Turkmen students and diaspora in Ukraine took part in the sports and health event on the occasion of World Health Day.
During the days of physical culture, sports and cultural events in Turkmenistan, active Turkmen youth in Ukraine willingly joined the sports movement and demonstrated the importance of maintaining regular physical activity and leading a healthy lifestyle.
Thus, on April 5, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine organized friendly indoor competitions among young people in various types of wrestling and arm wrestling, weightlifting, bench press and deadlift. The participants of the event conducted various strength training, running for speed and endurance, and concluded the event with intellectual competitions in chess and checkers.
The activists were unanimous in the fact that the popularization of sports and healthy lifestyle principles are essential for physical and mental health.
Turkmen diplomats, who competed together with the youth, traditionally recalled that the upbringing of a physically strong, spiritually and intellectually developed young generation of our country is largely facilitated by the socially oriented policy of Turkmenistan and the vector of strengthening the health of the nation, actively combating tobacco smoking and contributing to the work of expanding tobacco-free territories in the world, developing national sports and creating a modern sports infrastructure.
The diplomats noted that our country continues to make a worthy contribution to the development of the Olympic movement and the implementation of its humanistic principles - strengthening peace and harmony on the planet, friendship between countries and peoples. These principles, as is known, underlie the "Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan within the Framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust."
