Serdar Berdimuhamedov Receives Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau
On March 18, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Secretary General of the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) Dimitri Kerkentzes.
The BIE Secretary General emphasized the organization's continued interest in expanding partnership with Turkmenistan and highly praised the organization of the exhibition dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the visit of the BIE head, which also includes the participation of Dimitri Kerkentzes in the next meeting of the Administrative and Budgetary Committee of the International Exhibitions Bureau, will contribute to further strengthening of Turkmenistan's interaction with the bureau. He noted that the development of cooperation with authoritative international organizations is a priority of the country's foreign policy, and emphasized the effective nature of relations with the BIE. This was reported in the news release of the Turkmen state television and radio.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of international exhibitions for the development of trade and economic cooperation and global economic activity, as well as for demonstrating economic growth, successes and the introduction of innovations.
Turkmenistan, as a member of the BIE, traditionally takes an active part in the world and specialized exhibitions organized by the Bureau. The President of the country also declared Turkmenistan's readiness to actively participate in the work of the World Expo 2025 in Japan, organized by the BIE, and wished success to the event starting in April.
At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan's readiness to continue holding international exhibitions aimed at global development and to strengthen cooperation with the BIE in this area, wishing the Secretary General success in his work.
