Turkmen athletes are prize-winners of the international swimming tournament in Tajikistan

At the international swimming championship in the city of Khujand, dedicated to the Day of National Unity of Tajikistan, the Turkmen swimmer Merdan Atayev won an honorable first place at the 50 m backstroke, and Batyr Tachmuradov – the third place at the 200m breaststroke. Master of Sports, holder of national records Merdan Atayev is a silver medalist of the IV Islamic solidarity games held in Baku in 2017. At the XVII Summer Asian Games held in Incheon in 2014, the athlete entered the TOP-8 of the strongest swimmers of Asia. Batyr Tachmuradov is the champion of Turkmenistan also. Now swimmers will be intensively preparing for the 2018 Summer Asian Games that to be held in Jakarta this August. Over 75 swimmers from seven countries, including Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Belarus participate in the championship. Swimmers will compete in such swimming classifications as crawl stroke, breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle, backstroke, relay (men and women), and mixed relay. The tournament continues.
