Russia ready to supply oil and diesel to U.S. and global markets
Russia is ready to supply oil and petroleum products to the United States and global markets, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday, according to the Kremlin.
The two leaders discussed prospects for resolving the Ukraine crisis, the situation surrounding Iran and various aspects of Russia-U.S. relations. Putin said energy supplies could have a positive impact on the global economy.
Following the call, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak announced that Russia would lift restrictions on diesel exports ahead of schedule. He said additional volumes could be supplied to the U.S. market and other partners.
Russia plans to export 300,000 tonnes of diesel this month, 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes in December. Novak said the domestic Russian market would also remain fully supplied.
Trump said the same day that the two sides had reached an agreement on Russian diesel supplies to the United States and global markets.
According to CCTV+, the U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a temporary general license allowing the sale, delivery, offloading and importation of Russian-origin diesel fuel to the global market.
