OpenAI, renowned for its advancements in artificial intelligence, has announced the commencement of a search for specialists in the field of robotics development. This decision marks the company's return to the concept of creating general-purpose robots, an initiative it had abandoned in 2020.

Currently, OpenAI intends to develop robots equipped with unique sensors and computational components, enabling them to adapt to the dynamically changing conditions of the real world.

To this end, the company is seeking personnel for prototype testing and developers with expertise in creating robotic limbs. OpenAI anticipates mass production of its robots, envisioning production runs in the millions.

This opening of vacancies is also associated with the reinstatement of the dedicated robotics division, which had previously been disbanded.

The head of robotics, Caitlin Kalinowski, noted that the robots being developed will encompass various form factors, allowing them to perform a wide range of tasks.
