Pope Francis opened the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome.

The opening of the Holy Door traditionally symbolizes a call for the faithful to make a pilgrimage to Rome to receive indulgence and the forgiveness of sins.

It is expected that throughout the Jubilee year, Rome will welcome over 30 million pilgrims from around the world, which will require significant security measures and infrastructure preparation.

Pope Francis emphasized that the time has come for reflection on life and spiritual renewal.

This is the second Jubilee organized by Pope Francis. The first one took place in 2015.
