As of the end of November 2024, over 1 billion people in China are using 5G networks, which accounts for 56% of all mobile device owners in the country.

Over the past year, 180 million new users have joined, reflecting a strong demand for modern communication technologies.

China's largest telecommunications companies continue to grow their customer bases. The biggest increase is seen by China Mobile, which now has 547 million 5G users, an increase of 118 million compared to last year. China Telecom and China Unicom have added more than 60 million 5G subscribers over the year.

The number of 5G base stations across China has reached 4.191 million. The eastern region leads with 1.856 million stations, followed by the central and western regions.

Base stations are actively being built in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta, where their total number amounts to 1.2 million.
