In November 2024, Azerbaijan welcomed 2,753 tourists from Turkmenistan, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth is part of an overall positive trend in tourist flows from Central Asia to Azerbaijan, as reported by Trend, citing the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan.

Over the course of January-November 2024, Azerbaijan saw 29,982 visitors from Turkmenistan, a 28% rise compared to the same period last year. This increase highlights the growing ties between the two countries and the growing interest among Turkmen citizens in Azerbaijan as a travel destination.

Overall, the number of tourists from Central Asia to Azerbaijan continues to rise. In 2024, between January and November, Azerbaijan hosted 163,892 tourists from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, which is a 35% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
