The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Turkey draws the attention of citizens of Turkmenistan to the dissemination of false information on social networks about the extension of biometric passports until 2025.

The Embassy reminds that the validity of passports extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic expires on December 31, 2024. Citizens temporarily or permanently residing abroad must renew their passports before this date.

It is reported that in case of loss or damage of a biometric passport, as well as for children born outside the country, a “Certificate of Return to Turkmenistan” is issued, intended exclusively for returning to the country.

The Embassy strongly recommends not to fall for fake messages and to follow official announcements.
